Status:Available
FA5681 is a current-mode switching power supply control IC that can directly drive power MOSFETs. Despite its compact 8-pin package, it has a wide variety of functions, making it ideal for saving power at light loads and reducing the number of external components, thereby enabling the configuration of space-saving and cost-effective power supplies.
Features
- Improves efficiency by decreasing the oscillation frequency according to the load at light loads.
- Sets the minimum frequency at 26 kHz to prevent operation at audible frequencies under light loads in order to improve sound quality.
- Utilizes an intermittent operation method (burst operation) at light loads to achieve low standby power consumption.
- Incorporates a startup circuit to achieve low power consumption.
- Incorporates an overload protective function (latch stop) and overvoltage protective function, enabling protective operation with a small number of components.
- Its current detection negative polarity facilitates input voltage correction at overload operating points.
- Incorporates a latch mode shutoff circuit using an external signal.
- Suitable for overheat protection using a thermistor, since it switches to latch mode on pull-down.
- Incorporates a drive circuit capable of directly driving power MOSFETs. Output current: 1.0 A(sink)/ 0.5 A (source)Incorporates low voltage malfunction prevention circuit.
- Achieves low EMI using a frequency spread function.
- Includes a DSS function (Dynamic Self Supply) that enables power supply operation by supplying VCC voltage from the VH pin when no voltage is supplied from the transformer’s auxiliary winding.
Applications
- Switching Power Supplies
